Maryhan has been involved in all 3 of my children's lives for one reasn or another over the past 9 years. She has helped to develop social, emotional and educational skills tailored to each child. Her approach is so laid back and fun that the children didn't even realise they were learning. I am so grateful to her for her support.
As my marriage was breaking down and I was considering leaving my wife, I was very keen to understand the likely implications for our two young children. Should we ‘stay together for the sake of the children’, or would that likely do more harm than good? For over a year now Maryhan has been an invaluable sounding board to help ensure I act in the best interests of the children. My wife and I are divorcing, and that means change for the children. But I remain confident that with Maryhan’s help I can do my utmost to understand the situation from a young child’s perspective, and then tailor my actions and communication accordingly.
My son was lucky enough to attend two of Maryhan's courses in Salisbury. He was going through a tough time and she really helped him. Her courses are fun and informative and I can't recommend them more highly.
Maryhan has a very positive and engaging persona which my daughter really warmed to. After not really wanting to go on the first one, she ended up going on 3 or 4 workshops, and from each one found a "nugget" to help her deal with issues herself. I have found that the real focus of the workshops is empowering children to resolve their own issues - thus building their confidence to be able to deal with lifes pressures. I would strongly recommend this to any child - there is always something that can be "taken out " by them, and it has helped me have a language to communicate with my daughter - "What would Maryhan suggest you do in this circumstance" has become a firm favourite in our household !
Maryhan is fantastic ... supportive, attentive and understanding. She has strategies that support children and parents. I would recommend her to anyone struggling with their child's behaviour, whether it be emotional, behaviour or educational challenges. She supports the parent as well as the child and is always there at the end of the phone! Whether it be her 1-to-1 sessions or her workshops ... both provide ongoing support and education
